Day 1 & 2 | Galle - SIGIRIYA (OR START FROM AIRPORT)

Welcome to Sri Lanka. On this day of your 07 days Sri Lanka tour, you shall start exploring its marvels. Upon your arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, an you will be warmly greeted by our very own chauffeur guide and transferred to Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage.

Firstly, you will visit at the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is situated northwest of the town of Kegalle, The orphanage was originally founded in order to afford care and protection to the many orphaned Elephants found in the jungles of Sri Lanka. This was established 1975 by the Sri Lanka Wildlife department. In 1978 the orphanage was taken over by the National Zoological Gardens from the Department of Wildlife.

After lunch you will visit Sigiriya is one of the most valuable historical monuments of Sri Lanka. Referred by locals as the Eighth Wonder of the World this ancient palace and fortress complex has significant archaeological importance and attracts thousands of tourists every year. It is probably the most visited tourist destination of Sri Lanka. One of the most striking features of Sigiriya is its Mirror wall. Sigiriya rock plateau, formed from magma of an extinct volcano, is 200 meters higher than the surrounding jungles. After morning you will visit Pidurangala Viharaya .Pidurangala Viharaya is located at the top of a rock which creates the most beautiful scenery in the southern Asian continent. The locations were famous for hikes by locals you can see the famous Sigiriya rock by climbing pidurangala.  The main feature is that reclining Buddha statue sheltered by a protruding rock. Its half reconstructed of brick and much of remains of the original sculpture is still exists in the royal cave temple.

On completion the visit Minneriya Jeep .Minneriya Jeep Safari is a one of the most popular activity among travelers who visit Sri Lanka. Minneriya National Park is a wildlife sanctuary located in the North Central province of Sri Lanka. Nature lovers on Minneriya Jeep Safari often spot large number of Sri Lankan Elephants gathering around to grass fields on the edges of the reservoir during the dry season. In addition there are two endemic monkeys of Sri Lanka, Large herbivorous mammals such as Sri Lankan sambar deer and Sri Lankan axis deer, Rare and endangered species.

After a hearty dinner, come back to the hotel for a good night`s rest. Overnight stay at Sigiriya.

Day 3 | SIGIRIYA – KANDY

Enjoy a delectable breakfast and gear up for an enchanting classic tour. Your first stop for the day is the Kandy. First you will visit Dambula Cave Temple.

Dambulla is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites located in the region known as Sri Lanka`s Cultural Triangle. It is located 24 km (30 min) from Sigiriya in central Sri Lanka. Built in about 80 BC It is the largest and best preserved cave temple in Sri Lanka. The Buddhist temple complex of Dambulla consists of five cave temples carved under a very large overhanging rock. The temples include numerous carved statues of Buddha, and his faithful disciple Ananda, as well as Hindu deities.

En-route visit the bathic factory and spice garden in Matale. Batik factory in Mathale really interesting to see the process on how batik is made. So much work goes into making each unique design using wax and colors on a cotton based material.

Later continuing journey to visiting a spice garden, you will discover the different types of herbs and spices of Sri Lanka’s pride, where aromas of cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, pepper and mace romanticises the air, tantalising the senses – a spice garden is what it is. giving every visitor an in depth view of an ancient spice producing industry. When visiting a spice garden, you will discover the different types of herbs and spices of Sri Lanka’s pride, Opportunities for purchase on various products made with the spices are available which can be either natural cosmetics or traditional herbal remedies.

Next you will visit Temple of the Tooth .The Dalada Maligawa, also known as, the Temple of the Tooth, is one of the landmark sites in the city of Kandy. It is located in the heart of Kandy town surrounded by the lake and the commercial district. It is a must visit location for all tourists. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a world-renowned place of worship, where the left Canine tooth of Gautama Buddha is enshrined. The temple which is venerated by thousands of local & foreign devotees and tourists daily was named as a world heritage by UNESCO in 1988.

Day 4 | KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA

After breakfast and relax morning, proceed to visit the Peradeniya Botanical Garden. Peradeniya Situated in Kandy`s suburb of Peradeniya, the spectacular Peradeniya Botanical Garden The gardens display over 4 000 different species of plants, regarded amongst the most superior in Asia. The highlight is the spectacular Orchid collection and a mighty avenue of palm trees. In addition to a plethora of flowering plants, there is also an extensive collection of medicinal plants and spices which can be spotted on your meander across the gardens.

Next you will visit Nuwara Eliya supposed to be one of the coolest places on the Island, Nuwara Eliya is often referred to by the Sri Lankan tourist industry as ‘Little England’. Travelling through winding roads and lush green valleys, tea estates situated on the slopes and banks of the hills, with tiny streams and waterfalls and the beautiful misty mountains, one can arrive at  as any other town does Nuwara Eliya, which is situated among some of the most beautiful tea estates also has the Golf course, race Course, horses, Rose gardens Nuwara Eliya town which offers you everything,

En-route, you will stop at Ramboda falls. The area is known for marvelous landscapes comprising of highlands, ridges, plains, streams and hilly mountains. The best of the attractions being the Ramboda falls. Ramboda also has beautiful sights and rare birds cooing on the thick forests. The gushing waters and their sounds as they crackle hitting the rocks is experience awe – parallel.

Next you will visit the Tea Plantation & Tea Factory .The Tea Plantation & Tea Factory One of the most famous is Blue Field Tea Estate  Nuwara Eliya. Sri Lanka`s tea country is located mainly in the central highlands, although some of the tea growing areas spread as far as the coast. The reason that tea grows well here is because of the topography and the climate. The fertile soil, humidity and higher rainfall provide excellent tea growing conditions and tea plants thrive. It’s also quite a bit cooler in the highlands than the coastal areas due to its elevation.

Day 5 | NUWARA ELIYA – HORTON PLAINS

Early morning proceed to Horton Plains National Park .Horton Plains in Sri Lanka, is the coldest and windiest location in the country. It consists of ecosystems such as Montane evergreen forests, grasslands, marshy lands and aquatic ecosystem.

In view of the large number of endemic flora and fauna species, Horton Plains was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 30th July 2010.Horton Plains, its surroundings, forests and the adjoining Peak Wilderness constitute Sri Lanka`s most important catchment area of almost all major rivers. The plains are also of outstanding scenic beauty and conservation importance, containing most of the habitats and endemic plants and animals representative of the country’s wet and Montane zones. The western slopes support the most extensive area of Montane cloud forest surviving in the island. Horton Plains is not merely a destination for nature tourists

One of the most beautiful World Heritage Sites in the world is definitely the Horton Plains National Park in Sri Lanka. The park is spread over the two highest mountains in the area called Kirigalpotta and Totapola. The plateau-like structure along with plains on one end, thick forests and mountains on other make the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka. You will find a number of waterfalls, lakes, rocky hills and views of the ocean in this part of the country. The forest is home to a number of wild animals and birds, however, most large animals remain elusive and unapproachable. The Climate of Horton Plains is that of a wet Montane forest.

On a clear morning the World`s End affords the view running to the southern coast of Sri Lanka. The panoramic and distant views are bound to get obscured by the mist from around 10am onwards. As such an early morning arrival at the escarpment would stand in good stead. Protecting Horton Plains is a call of duty for all Sri Lankans. The Climate of Horton Plains is that of a wet Montane forest.

Day 6 | NUWARA ELIA – ADAMS PEAK

After breakfast move on to Adam`s Peak .Adam`s Peak, also known as Sri Pada, is a 2,243m (7,359 ft) mountain in the central highland region of Sri Lanka. Popular for Sri Lankans and tourists alike. The typical climb is started in the middle of the night so you can reach the peak for a breathtaking adams peak sunrise. For Sri Lankans, Sri Pada is an important pilgrimage site. However, The religious significance of Adam’s Peak greatly depends on who you’re talking to,

Buddhists – claim the footprint mark is the left foot of Buddha

Hindus – consider the footprint to belong to none other than Lord Shiva

Muslims & Christians – believe it’s Adam’s first step after being exiled from the Garden of Eden.

Adam`s Peak is one of the rare places that people of four major religions in the world worship. The mountain is situated in the Rathnapura district. Height of the mountain is 7,360 feet (2,243 meters). Although this is only the second highest mountains, it rises alone majestically with a conical shape and offers an unobstructed view over land and sea. It is said that the mountain was the landmark of the ancient sea-faring Arabs, who came to Sri Lanka, to trade in gems, spices, ivory etc.,

On completion, return to hotel and relax. Overnight stay at Adam`s Peak.

Day 7 | ADAMS PEAK – KITHULGALA –HIKKADUWA

Early morning proceed to Kithulgala for white water rafting. If you love adventure and want to experience a holiday that actively engages you with nature, then you must go Kithulgala. Kithulgala is an adventure camp situated in Kitulgala, a small village west of Sri Lanka, just 80km from Colombo, on the banks of the beautiful Kelani River. It offers many nature activities which include White Water Rafting, Confidence Jumps, Waterfall Abseiling, Rain Forest Walks and Packaged Multiday Adventure Trips, being based at the Adventure Camp by the Kelani River, a waterfront that affords the opportunity for some real adventure and unforgettable experiences. In the afternoon proceed back to Hikkaduwa .Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka is a town located only 100 kilometers south of Colombo on Sri Lanka’s southern coast. Its beautiful beaches and large array of restaurants and hotels make it a top choice for holidaymakers – both local and international. The beach stretches on spanning over kilometers and hosts many fun activities to keep the tourists engaged. Renowned for its beach and coral reefs, Hikkaduwa is home to some of the best coral gardens in Asia. Hikkaduwa Coral Reef Sanctuary; Sri Lanka`s first Marine National Park.The clear waters beckon the nature lovers who wish to take a dip inside the waters to witness the vibrant, colorful aquatic life. The coral sanctuary hosts gorgeous coral formations, which house a variety of fishes and large turtles.
